My Letter

I wrote a letter to my friend that I decided to post. It is a letter that everyone needs to hear sometimes...I think underneath I really wrote it to remind myself of what Jesus intends for me too. I hope somewhere along the line, you can relate. :)

Dear Friend,

You are living in a fight. A battlefield. People try tell you that life is going to be happy go lucky all the time if you choose to follow Jesus- but trust me, it is hard. But I know your trying…keep trying. Don’t give up. I hope you grow even more into a person who follows God with everything in him. And puts Jesus at the center of everything. If you do that, he will bless you.

I know you feel disgusting and sinful sometimes. I know you feel like you want to give up, that people aren’t worth it. I know you feel weak. I know you feel like sometimes the pressure is so great you can’t breath. I know the world sometimes feels like it’s coming down on your head.

I know you feel powerless sometimes. I know you feel hurt, angry, confused, and rageful. I know you are bitter. But don’t be. You will waste so much of your life being angry at how people treat you. Don’t waste one second of your precious life. You could die tomorrow. I could die tomorrow. Don’t take anything for granted.

Be joyful because you have another second to live. And keep fighting. When your hope is gone, when the breath is gone from you and you just want to kill someone or cry or give up, don’t. It makes the end result so much more worth while if you keep fighting.

Because if we stop fighting, what is life? Life is a fight. Don’t be passive. Be joyful and love people, fighting hard against what your sinful nature tells you underneath. You are not worthless. You are respectful, honorable, brave, tough. beautiful, courageous, strong, different, kind, loving, true and absolutely amazing. Don’t believe anything less.


Expect people to treat you like dirt, but know that Jesus knows your true worth. And so do I.
We both believe in you. And I believe in what Jesus can turn your life into and do through you.

Hope is never gonna let you down..if you are hoping for the right things. Are you hoping for Jesus? Keep fighting, just keep holding on to Jesus. Because what we are suffering now is nothing compared to the glory that will be shown in us!
